Every single day we thank God for the opportunity we are given. Whether those circumstances are good, bad, or indifferent, we are thankful. We're a bunch of "good ol' boys" who like to have fun, but we, literally, bet the farm that we have the hardest working group of people in the industry, dedicated to providing the very best birds and hunting experiences possible. And everyone who works on our farm is as trustworthy as your best pointing dog.

Burks Quail Run started because the "old man" Kenneth Burks realized the natural quail population was depleting and it cost an arm and a leg to go on a typical preserve hunt. He was a blue-collar worker - just like the next three generations under him who still run the farm - and he didn't have loads of money to go blow on expensive hunts. So, he decided he would turn the industry on its heels and created a hunting preserve that any blue collar guy or gal could afford to go to. The result was Burks Quail Run, and we are a niche within a niche.

We still do traditional family bird hunting, but we like to have a good time. There is an old adage about hockey, that goes "I went to a fight, and a hockey game broke out." We like to say, "I went to a party, and a bird hunt broke out."

We raise all of our birds in house, but we realized a few years ago that we were not raising the best birds possible. Our ranch manager Ricky, who has been with us since the creation of our company, said we should travel the country and learn how to raise birds from other farms. That's what we did. We spent years traveling all over and adopting or adapting what we liked and leaving the rest.

Ricky's idea was so crazy that it worked, and it has helped us raise the best birds we have ever raised. And, as a result, we are able to pass on to you, the customer, not only the best birds, but the best hunts as well.

And that's what we love to do. It's our livelihood. It's our passion. It's just who we are...
